Democracy: 12 Classic Texts

The list below comprises a collection of classic texts on democracy. This list defines the readings for the library's Catherine Project Reading Group, which will explore the theme of democracy throughout 2024, and it will be often updated to support the needs of that group. New editions will be substituted as they enter the library's collections, so readers should not plan to acquire all of the readings at once. Annotations to each title will detail precisely what sections the readers in the group should plan to read from each text prior to each meeting of the group.
