Two fathers, one Israeli and the other Palestinian, become friends when they meet in a group for parents whose children have been killed in their country’s long-running conflicts. But, that’s just the simplest description. Like other of his books, which echo in this one, readers are taken through an extraordinary number of random coincidences that reflect our shared humanity. Amazing way to tell these families’ stories, experiencing the grief and guilt that stays with them and their navigation through ordinary life called by them, the Occupation. But, the book is so much more, although hard to describe. Highly recommended. Almost an experience just to read it!
