There is something sad, yet magical about 'The Lemon Sisters', yet with a predictable happy ending. I really enjoyed the one-liner chapter titles and the sage words that come from the mouth of 8 yr old, going on 62, "Princess" Millie. The problems and emotions of the sisters are so raw and so tender they can't seem to find a way around them, even when the solutions are in front of them begging to help. Tears, fears, laughter and sexual tensions that will make you go 'whew!'. For a simple story, 'The Lemon Sisters' is quite complex. The characters and their love, their sadness, their guilt, their fear of abandonment all have layers upon layers of each, peeled back deftly and with care by the author. 4 stars
