This movie is a based on a true story about two people Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp, they both meet and fall in love, and share a passion for sailing. They both find an opportunity to sail one of their friend’s boat to California, and they agree. During the sailing trip, there is a huge hurricane that is ever recorded in history, which separates both Tami and Richard and ruins most of the stuff on the boat. It soon becomes their mission to get back on to land somehow because their navigation system stops working. I rate this movie 3.5 out of 5. @BirdieBooks of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library Adrift is based on a true story which is both cool and frightening, it pretty much focuses on our two leads exclusive through this whole film. The two cast were amazing, there back and forth genuine and you really believe this loving relationship. The story telling or the plot layout of this movie is not your typical chronological order rather they do this nonlinear storytelling jumping back before and after the tragedy, at first I will admit that this felt jarring because you’re kinda like in this tense situation with the tragedy that was happening, the boat is maybe gone crash and then all of the sudden it jumps back to their loving relationship of them just hanging out on the beach but as the story continues this format does make sense because the balance of the good with the bad the before and after really gives the audience to almost endings to this film one to see how the shipwreck actually occurs and the ultimate conclusion for these characters, I will admit that this format may confuse some people but it does work overall. Overall, this is a wonderful true story it would be great for a date night and gives you thrill while watching. 4/5 Stars. @moviefanatic of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
