The Library at the Edge of the World is a great debut novel that left me looking forward to more of this author's writing. The book follows Hannah, a librarian, who is renovating a house on the coast with the help of an eccentric contractor, and her assistant Conor, who runs a family farm and works at the library part-time. I enjoyed the portrayal of the characters, and appreciate that while the main character struggles with difficulties, she does not dwell on them. The story stays fairly light, which makes this a great vacation read.
