Charles Cumming’s A Divided Spy fits right in with the quality spy tales of Graham Green and the old school (and best of) John le Carré: Timely themes, including Russian interference (everywhere), Russian homophobia and home-grown terrorists in the UK. Cumming’s characters, large and small, are incredibly (and credibly!) well drawn. Jot Davies’s voicing of the diverse international dialog is perfect. I’m not a fan of his third-person narration, though; it seems a tad stiff.
