I would rate Twilight by Stephenie Meyer 5/5 stars. This book is incredible and definitely a must read! I instantly fell in love with Edward and his mysterious persona. I enjoyed the love story throughout this book; Edward would do anything to protect Bella. I enjoyed how a typical YA romance story was given a fantasy-like twist; the “Bad Boy” at school falls in love with the innocent, quirky girl, but he knows they can’t be together, but their love is too strong to separate them, except, he is a vampire. Edwards thirst for Bella’s blood makes you wonder if he actually loves her, or if he just wants her to trust him enough so that drinking her blood becomes easy, and not so much of a hunting job. But, at the end of the book , a certain event really shows us that Edward loves her more than anything and would never hurt her in any way. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, and I’m really anticipating New Moon, written in Edward’s POV. I recommend this book for people age 14 and older, especially if you are a fan of The Hunger Games or Divergent. @Dolphin05 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library Twilight by Stephenie Meyer was a great book. I first read this novel in the sixth grade, and after that I read it three more times! As cheesy as the writing was, it was pretty compelling and I could not stop - I even read the rest of the series. I enjoyed this novel because I love the sci-fi genre, and the supernatural. I actually started reading the Twilight series during the time where I started watching (and reading) the Vampire Diaries, so it was pretty cool to be able to compare the two, and see which presented vampires in a more realistic way. Overall, I really enjoyed Twilight because it followed a teenager, just like me, so I found it a bit more easy to follow because I could relate to some aspects of her life. I would rate this book 5/5. @Montgomery of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library Nearly 13 years since it was published and it’s still one of the worst books ever written. The plot is atrocious, the characters are incredibly unlikable and the dialogue is the equivalent of hearing chalk scratched onto a chalk board REPEATEDLY. So its basically about the ‘forbidden love’ between a annoyingly naïve teenage girl and some creepy vampire guy. And that’s roughly about it. Nothing else is honestly worth mentioning and if you think there is, you obviously don’t have a good taste in literature (IF I can even call this drivel literature.) It’s so boring too! I actually found my self nodding off while reading some chapters. Oh, and the ‘heroine’ (Bella) is so excruciatingly dull and makes so many poor decisions, you have to wonder if she isn’t really a 7 year old rather than an actual freaking ‘teenager’. Well, that’s all I can say. I don’t recommend this book to anyone, but if you’re down to waste precious hours of your life- be my guest. 1/5 Stars. @Bloop of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board Twilight is a very bland and odd book. It’s definitely not my cup of tea— much too romantic and long and it just drags on and on. It’s quite typical and boring, and the general gist of it is two boys fighting over some human girl. I’m not a fan of romance, but if it would at least have a satisfactory plot, that would’ve been nice. Too bad it doesn’t. - @SecretBlossom of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
