Assuming a not-so-well known actress or someone who isn't an Oscar winner does this role of the same calibre, would she be nominated like what happened to Ms. Theron? There's a certain stiffness in her performance for the role of Mavis Gary which I find constricting. It's supposed to be a comedy of the Amy Adams magnitude but Charlize has that innate quality that's more reserved for high dramas or femme fatale roles. Again, this is one of my "So what?!" comment that because she is nominated, she's good. I'd reserved that compliment to her HS buddy, Patton Oswalt (essaying the role of Matt). He aced that loser role with compleat ease! Still enjoyable but Amy Adams could have been a better Mavis.
