This collection where Cusk shows you what’s behind the fiction is not as good as the fiction. You only see the brilliant Cusk psychology of landscape that could begin fiction in « Driving » and « Coventry ». The good big ideas on writing and society, a marvelous aside on rudeness, show up out of nowhere, but there’s too much women-child, old confessional style for me in this anthology.
