Four stars--and I rarely give a five-star rating. Classic movie--a very good one in any genre, but especially good in the Sci-fi category. Stand-out performances by Bruce Willis in the lead, and one from Brad Pitt in his Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning performance as the crazed loonie, Jeffrey. Simply magnificent--a real career break-out performance from 1995. Once in a while, Pitt is handed a role that allows him to reveal a kind of inspired madness. We saw it again in Burn After Reading. Madelaine Stow's excellent, too. But the REAL stars of this funny, fascinating and ultimately heart-wrenching movie are the husband-and-wife writing team, David (Bladerunner; Unforgiven) and Janet Peoples and the movie's Director Terry Gilliam. Brilliant; undiminished in its captivating power, 30-odd years on.
