Crossroads of Twilight is really boring. Seriously, nothing interesting or important happens for 600 pages. Maybe Robert Jordan should have called this book "Crossroads of Nothing" or "Boredom at Twilight." This book coincides with events that take place during Winter's Heart and mainly goes from the perspectives of Perrin, Elayne, Egwene, and Mat. I think that for the most part, these four characters were really uninteresting (with maybe the exception of Egwene), and I was confused as to what a lot of this story had to do with anything. In Winter's Heart, we last see Elayne saying that Caemlyn is under attack. In this book, the characters seem to completely forget about that. (I think that Elayne acted too dumb in this book to be likable). We also go back to Perrin's point of view and see him searching for Faile, but unfortunately, the book doesn't go anywhere with that and Perrin doesn't get any closer to finding her. Egwene does stuff, and Mat is running away from the Seanchean while spending a lot of time trying to get to know Tuon. I think the most interesting part of this book was about Rand, but it only goes from his point of view for about 15ish pages. Another thing that bothered me was the length of the prologue; a whopping 86 pages. I don't really think it had to be that long. Anyways, I hear that the rest of the series gets better after this book, and I'm excited to see if that's true.
