Another great story from this author, lots of depth, insight into family relationships (so close to real life), lots of humour and just loved the kids!!

There is something sad, yet magical about 'The Lemon Sisters', yet with a predictable happy ending.

I really enjoyed the one-liner chapter titles and the sage words that come from the mouth of 8 yr old, going on 62, "Princess" Millie.

The problems and emotions of the sisters are so raw and so tender they can't seem to find a way around them, even when the solutions are in front of them begging to help.

Tears, fears, laughter and sexual tensions that will make you go 'whew!'.

For a simple story, 'The Lemon Sisters' is quite complex. The characters and their love, their sadness, their guilt, their fear of abandonment all have layers upon layers of each, peeled back deftly and with care by the author.

Review excerpt: "Jill Shalvis is one of my go-to “feel good” authors, so when I needed a lift I picked up 'The Lemon Sisters', and, man, it did not disappoint. This book was cathartic. It made me laugh and it made me cry, and it helped me let loose some of my own bottled-up feelings. I left this book feeling recharged and satisfied, which was exactly what I needed.

The third book in the 'Wildstone' series can be easily as a standalone, and as much as it’s a romance, it’s also the story of two sisters reconnecting. All of the main characters in this book have to re-evaluate their situations and make an emotional journey, and I found the fact that they all did the work to get where they needed to be while also supporting each other to be incredibly satisfying."

I listened to the audio version of this book. Jill Shalvis is one of those authors that makes you want to go by some Poise products before you even crack the book open! Her characters are so profoundly honest in their actions and speaking that you can't help but wish everyone would just let go and throw their own gaffs and messed up human flaws out there for the entire world to see. Maybe then everyone would be more relaxed and less judgmental of other people's mistakes.
This book was so good! It had a second chance trope included in with a marriage in trouble, sisters out of touch, hilarious children, stodgy cats, fears realized and overcome.
It would be difficult for me to choose a favorite character out of this book, but I may be leaning towards Mindy. After all, she offered her sister one of her children---but not the good one. Loved that! Brooke was full of secrets, but also a heart of gold. Garrett was an incredible guy. Could I have him, please?
The narration by Erin Mallon was superb. I especially loved the unique qualities of the voice she used for Garrett. Yum!

Ostensibly Brooke's story about reuniting with her childhood love and dealing with the trauma and baggage that kept them apart, her sister Mindy's story about struggling to have it all in life, marriage, and parenthood is equally as strong. A wonderful romance with Shalvis' perfect blend of family drama and love, friendships, and the honest portrayal of modern relationships.

A mediocre romance with two sisters who go round and round in circles. I found Brooke and Mindy to be likable enough, just aggravating as all get out a majority of the time. All the details on the s-e-x is not my cup of tea. I wanted to see the mended relationships. It took way too long to get there. Apparently Jill Shalvis is not going to be on my favorite authors list and that's okay as others seem to love her style.
