I've been describing this book to people as "Pleasantville meets The Giver", which both is and isn't entirely accurate. Neither book captures the quiet, perfect tone of this one, but I think it gives you a rough idea of what to expect. This was beautiful -- it is about grief, and leaving the past behind, and the important of memory, and the myth of perfection and perfect happiness, and it made me cry. I can't wait for kids -- and adults! -- to get their hands on this one.
