Beautifully written. Based upon a true story, it's an amazing tale about WWII children enduring evacuations and disasters. Don't miss the photos at the back of the book.

Part historical fiction/part nonfiction, this middle-grade book is based on a true event and follow one boy's experiences after his boat evacuating him to Canada is torpedoed. It's full of courage, hope and compassion. The Author's Note and Facts section at the back of the book is very informative and adds to the overall experience of the book.
