Definitely a favorite, goes through the same integral as the DVD production, this play version well exceeded my expectations. I love the dancing clothes. It also lifted my spirits on a cold day, something to identify with on the very fact that we have all arrived up the journey, indeed. ;)

I should have looked at the title more closely, thought it was the movie.

the behind the curtain feature was fascinating, and the elliott (what a coincidence) who plays billy elliot is absolutely wonderful (but see the original movie first)

This is a really great recording of the stage show, filmed in London at the Victoria Palace Theatre. This is NOT the movie, but the West End Musical version filmed live. The quality and editing is fantastic, and will make you feel like you are right on stage with the performers.
I definitely recommend this to any fans of theatre, and also if you have interest in the coal miners strikes of the 1980s, as that is the backdrop for the entire story.
You will feel inspired and moved after seeing this show!!!

Absolutely fantastic. My husband and I have seen Billy E. at 5 times now...Paramount, Village Theater, London stage, Movie directed by Lee Hall AND this one. This one was SO GOOD! We love theater and thought this London Live recorded stage production was great. For one thing, sometimes it's difficult in the other productions, to understand the northern England accents. No so in this one. Also, the casting was the best of any we'd seen. In case it's not obvious, we HIGHLY recommend it.

Incredible production! Open your mind; this is a live musical production, not the movie. The actors - child and adult - are all incredible, especially the boy who plays Billy, Elliott Hanna. He can act, he sings, and most of all he can dance!

I just wish the camera work was a little better; too much zooming in for closeups when the viewer would like to see the footwork! Other than that, a great way to watch this musical until/unless a live production comes to your town!

Horrible - I loved the movie but this does not do the story any justice
