Many critics of FDR cast him as a capitalist pig, saving capitalism and the banksters. Others take the opposite tack like this author, an anti-New Dealer [like CBS's Scott Pelley's granddaddy]. Here's the reality: FDR was only successful in getting a portion of the New Deal passed - - one obstacle was Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, plus others. Had FDR been able to pass the entire program, we'd most likely be living in a thriving Socialist Democracy today!
If this historian mentions TNEC and the lawsuit against the Wall Street 17, he will have at least been accurate, but if he doesn't mention these . . . .
