A view of the Glasgow slums in the midst of a garbage collector's strike. Once something really horrible happens in one's childhood, the horror will live with them forever, as a haunting memory. This was the debut film of director Lynne Ramsay. She will eventually get Tilda Swinton to play in her film "We Need to Talk About Kevin." Ramsay's films, perhaps social realism, often deal with lives we would all rather not have to experience. Sadly, though, there are some people that are trapped in horrible environments. Environments, which a lot of people would like to believe do not exist.
