This book is full of charming photos of a huge mouse doll house, with stories of two mouse children and their daily adventures through mouse mansion/town. I love all the old-fashioned details; it becomes a sort of history lesson of life long ago.

I would recommend this for a little older children or include on "I spy with my little eye.." sorts of games as you read for younger children. There are so many objects to notice throughout the pictures that you could keep busy for ages.

Even though this is in the picture book section, I think older school-aged children who enjoy historical fiction would love this too.

My only wish is that there were more, well-lit photos of the complete mouse mansion so it was easier to find the room/scene where a story is taking place in the big picture. I think kids would love that challenge.
