Grace Reinhart Sachs is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. Devoted to her husband, their young son Henry, and the patients she sees in her therapy practice, her days are full of familiar things. Grace is also the author of a book You Already Know. But weeks before the book is published a chasm opens in her own life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only an ongoing chain of terrible revelations.

This book was a nice peek into the mind of a woman who once thought herself level and in control, and the family tragedy that slowly reveals itself, crushing her spirits and her worldview. Grace Sachs, a therapist living a life of wealth and privilege in New York City, is on the threshold of publishing her first book, "You Should Have Known". When her own comfortable existence is threatened she questions whether she knows anything at all, and whether she has the right to offer counsel to others. Ultimately, Grace's biggest hurdle is relating to her son, Henry, post tragedy.

I feel that the plot could have been more dynamic and shocking, but overall the story is well done.
