Smorgasbook found this title to be lovely to look at and the stories where very interesting. The recipes however were brief and made huge amounts of food. There are plenty of vegetarian recipes. We suggest this book for cook book readers as it works better as a travelogue than a Middle Eastern cooking primer.

I loved this book! Lots of useful seasoning mix recipes to work with & expand flavor profiles. Got me to explore ways to find ingredients I haven't used before, which is always an adventure!
