Wonderful book. If only I would have read the novel prior to reading 12 days. Lots of jargon but interesting enough to keep the reader going. Specifics about Ellis Shafer and John Wells were intriguing. Reading about Well's endeavors on cruise had been amazing. Rarely a match for his personality or profile because he seems like a restless person. Nonetheless, Anne's rejection had had a traumatizing impact - a feeling of sadness indeed. Giving a loved one a 30 day deadline to make a decision conveys selfishness. A chosen career can hardly be given up particularly when it involves a mission driven individual like John Wells. So, the question that immediately springs to mind: How can anyone love a self-centered person? That's exactly what Anne represents. Yet, the story conveys Wells' emotional sense...the caring attitude when he reminisces his past, the women he loves and family at large. In closing, the bits about Salome seemed overwhelming, because there was evidence of an exaggerated sense of confidence and make belief - an attire that just doesn't seem fitting.

Good read nevertheless. Brave to Alex Berenson!

This story left me wanting a resolution, it seems to be part of a series that I was unaware of after picking this title up from the library
