A South American crime lord has brought New York the worst lawlessness and violence the city has ever seen. Police shot in the street. Judges murdered in the courtroom. Mayhem is unleashed—and the mayor demands that Detective Michael Bennett find a way to stop it. Bennett decides to take his ten kids and their beautiful nanny, Mary Catherine, out of the danger on a much-needed vacation to upstate New York. But instead of escaping the violence, they find themselves in the middle of another nightmare that threatens to rip their family apart. And the danger isn't only coming from the crime lord's thugs—Emily Parker is back, and Bennett's attraction to her endangers his new relationship with Mary Catherine. A no-holds-barred, pedal-to-the-floor, action-packed novel, I, Michael Bennett is James Patterson at his most thrilling best.

Book 5

An interesting story line, that looses its credibility close to the end, but after all it is fiction, and it makes for a continuation of the plot in the next book in this series.

I enjoyed the book. The biggest negative is that it leaves you hanging. 7 of 10 for me.

I ABOLUTELY HATED THE ENDING. What is worse, I just checked the catalog and there appears to be no sequel to this book. It held my interst until the last half of last CD where the end is sloppy.

James Patterson has kept a bad guy through several books, but never has he had a policeman go into hiding!

Thankfully, few of the stories I read are as depressing as this novel. 2 of 10 stars
