An excellent book, which makes the point, obvious to the few self-aware Americans extant today, that the CIA-sponsored Iranian coup, removing their democratically elected president and replacing him with the shah, wasn't a "failure of intervention" but accomplished exactly what the oil companies wanted, especially BP (then called the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company); the Iranian president was going to nationalize their oil fields, i.e., use the Iranian oil . . . . for Iranians! (What a concept!) The CIA team was led by Kermit Roosevelt, who would later be appointed vice president of the Mellon oil corporation, Gulf Oil, while his cousin, Archibald Roosevelt, also on the CIA team, would be vice president of David Rockefeller's Chase Bank). Important to know that the ownership of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company was: half ownership by the Rockefeller (majority owner of that 50%), Mellon and Rothschild families (minority owners), with the remaining half owned by the British government - - and probably still like that today! (There were indicators of a possible breakup of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company during the Kennedy Administration, with President Kennedy amenable to such, but he was assassinated before such a breakup was effected. For more info about the proposed breakup, please see Richard James Desocio's "Rockefellerocracy".)
