First, let me say, I loved Robert Redford growing up. I saw Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid 40 times (and that was in 1969). God knows how many times I have seen it in the ensuing 50 years. He was a hunk then and my pin-ip! That said, I am still trying to get through this book. It is quite tedious. The minutiae of Redford's life is distracting from the big picture. Flashbacks and flashforwards makes it an inconsistent read. Also, the fact that it is over 800 pages (albeit large print) is daunting at best. I will continue, but if I am not finished by the due date, I will deliver this baby back to the library unfinished. I will just have to remember Bob from my memories.....

Be prepared for a very intricately detailed account of the actor's life thus far. I am 2/3 through it and don't know if I'll have the patience to last until the end. So many tedious details about movie deals/negotiations that the author could certainly have given us the "cliff notes" version of!

I never realized the extent to which the Redford family were involved in various kinds of activism. This was very interesting. The rest was okay.

A meticulous, tiptoeingly respectful biography of Robert Redford: actor, director and environmental activist.
