This is a quick, easy read and is enlightening for anyone (like me) who only ever remembers learning about Tad Lincoln in school - never Robert, Eddy or Willie. Holzer is a reknowned Lincoln scholar so while I trust that he knows what he's talking about, I was disappointed that his source notes generally refer to secondary sources rather than primary documents. Plenty of photographs of the Lincolns are included - including one of Tad that the little scamp altered with a phony mustache.
