While waiting for a heart transplant that could save his life, Pierre reunites with his sister and her lively children. This rediscovery of his family and observation of the teeming streets outside his window give Pierre hope, and a new sense of how he might spend the time still left to him. A story about the middle-class and bourgeois, immigrants and students, fashion models and the homeless, and all the lovers and strangers whose paths could cross and change in Paris.

A gleaming mosaic of stories about contemporary Parisians and immigrants. Elegantly done and profound. A true rediscovery of life.

A lovely, gentle story of Parisians in various "conditions of being". Not every story is neatly wrapped up at the end leaving us able to wonder about what is to happen to several characters.

Multiple "romances" occur in various Parisian milieux from architects to butchers. An everyday "real" feel of ordinary people is pleasant enough with a setting in Paris, but only the Baudelaire quote achieves a significant cinematic level.
