This film from Japan first felt like a comedy but gets into serious moments throughout the story. It is about a young woman, neglected is her childhood, who moved to a new city to 'find happiness'. She became a hooker and then felt in love with a gangster, with both leaving their past lives to settle down - sort of. The story line was not very convincing, though. E.g., if the gangster loves the woman so much why he flipped the dinner table, repeatedly, at the smallest trigger event? Anyway, it is a watchable film, a love story with a twist, from contemporary Japanese cinema as long as you do not expect it to be a great film.
