"A riveting and provocative documentary that explores the psychological transformation of the modern character. Inspired by Greek drama, Academy Award-winning director Jessica Yu weaves together the stories of four men consumed by personal odysseys - a notorious former German terrorist, an evangelical minister who comes out of the closet, a bank robber turned journalist, and a kung-fu fanatic who becomes a stay-at-home dad and author" -- Container.

I was pretty excited about this film based on a trailer I saw. As you can see from the 1.5 stars, I was not much impressed. The film focuses on 4 men telling stories of their youthful struggles for self-respect and -actualization through their various tribulations (see description above). These are interesting biopics in and of themselves, but based on the preview I saw and the title, I expected something more...."universal," which I admit is kinda relative/ambiguous (ie. it could be argued that these 4 stories portray a larger motion of "protagonism"), but, for me, the final product is way too specific, especially since I am of the opinion that any character can be a protagonist; therefore this just seemed really (really really) narrow.
