This is a 1974 Italian film directed by Roberto Rossellini.
This 162-minute DVD has two episodes: René Descartes is in Paris in Episode 1 while he is in Italy in Episode 2.
Although the cover says that this movie is an intimate, psychological study of obsession and existential crisis, the director seems to have failed in depicting such a study.
It is, however, interesting to see Paris and Italy in the first half of the 17th century.
