In the south of France, in a vast plain region called the Camargue, lives White Mane, a magnificent stallion and the leader of a herd of wild horses too proud to be broken by humans. Only Folco, a young fisherman, can tame him. A strong friendship grows between the boy and the horse, as the two go looking for the freedom that the world of men won't allow them.

Loved the photography in this picture. Intriguingly captures the relationship between the both and the horse. Fascinatingly portrays the mysterious and existential lives of wild horses. Highly recommended.

Good movie though short, very romanticized picture of youth and its preoccupations. It has a Hemingway feel to it - its aim is to tell a story without embellishment, and accordingly is direct and to the point, but the embellishment and sentiment are deeply embedded and one quickly has a great empathy for the characters and an understanding of their lives. Reminds me of the Old Man and the Sea, both book and movie...... Very well done movie......

A fascinating, almost religious film. The horse fight scene is real, and the ending is comparable only to 'Au Hasard Balthazar'.
