Grew up in LA in the 1940, 50's.Went to school with some Mexicans and knew some who worked for my friends and parents. Decent, hard working people. But, had no idea what there life was like until I read this book. It completely changed my views and opened my mind. I have always been for immigration based on what I know and observed but the rich life they lived. Had no idea.
