Harden, Pantoliano and Gearhart are outstanding in this autobiographical account of a son's life with a schizophrenic mother. The movie feels authentic, equally balancing hope and despair.
Excuse me? I totally disagree. Why would you praise these actors? I'm tired of people who don't have a clue, making a movie about us for the primary purpose of nabbing another award. Actors are professional liars. Don't forget it! Unless they've lived with mental illness they don't have a clue what it's like. Then there're the people who watch a two hour movie about our pain and think they get it. They pat themselves on the back cos' they feel warm and fuzzy, like they're compassionate now. They're the most insane of all.
Okay, but maybe some folks feel the movie raises awareness. Is that so bad?

How one family is affected by, and copes with, a mental illness. Despite the subject, it is very entertaining and artistic. I think it is a must-see!
