This is the first book of the commissario Brunetti series I read. Most likely, it will be the last. All characters are so stereotyped to look like caricatures. The "plot" is slowly moving and really uninteresting (no body shows up until maybe half of the book!?). The reading in the CD version I borrowed is close to being awful. Most Italian words are grossly mispronounced (besides, they are not always used correctly, and that's the author's fault, not the reader's). I can't understand why readers for audio versions of books can't be bothered to find out the correct pronunciations of foreign word.
Definitely not recommended!
