I fast forwarded parts of this film to a comfortable running time, and found suspense, shock and disparity other films try to match. It’s not for everybody. Getting chilled out and pulled in at the same time shows skillful balance. Self inflicting behavior is hard to watch, but Julia Lektov, writer - director, knows the limit. She adds thought, care and good sense. It doesn’t pander, and it pins the cautionary tale without hammering the loud pedal.
Tension builds between the everyday activities of the handlers, the bomb makers, the young woman and unspoken sinister intentions. Their matter-of-fact safety measures mean they go home while this young woman dies by their device.
Their flat affects leave a lot to the imagination, but the film makers researched the subject, the disconnects, the voices, missionary intensity, even the sign language.
I squirmed. “Can’t you see ? You’re being used.” Why can’t the characters figure it out ? It’s called audience irony.
The ending shows the break, either she gets it or she’s at the edge, but doesn’t make up our mind. This film doesn’t scroll neat outcomes in text before the credits.

I wasn’t very impressed by the movie. It is a kind o ghost movie, because nothing is happening and you have no clue who is who…
