Another good performance of Ricardo Darin as the only child in his 40-s who wants to prove his worth to his mother. The storyline is very good. The acting is also enjoyable.

A perfect movie beautifully written and acted. Every scene matters and all details add to the enjoyment of later scenes. It shows how powerful love is in life and the true meaning of success. Very touching and emotional moments and also very funny at times without being sentimental. I wasn't expecting the dialogue and reactions to be so realistic and I didn't read about the plot before I started to watch the movie and that added to my enjoyment. The Library DVD I watched had subtitles available. The director of this movie, Juan Campanella, also wrote the screen play. Impressive. Check out another film he directed "The Secret in Their Eyes" - starring the same lead actor (Ricardo Darin). The "mother" (Norma Aleandro), played the heroine in "The Official Story".

A touching story from the same director as the Oscar-winning "The Secret In Their Eyes".

One note of caution: this disc does not have subtitles of any kind, so unless you understand Argentine Spanish you should avoid this one.
