Painter and illustrator, Hieronymus Bosch was born in the Netherlands in 1450.

In his rather short lifetime of just 65 years, Bosch certainly produced some fantastic and equally bizarre-themed paintings that still fascinate many people to this very day.

If you are interested in learning more about the life and works of Bosch, then, this 50-minute documentary from Kultur's "Dutch Masters" series will give you a satisfactory overview of this unique artist's accomplishments.

Directed by Lara Lowe in 2000, this 49-minute documentary delves into the works and career of Hieronymous Bosch, whose life we don't know anything about despite the fact his works are well-known today.
The appeal of his work has long outlasted the late medieval age in which he lived.
Though his art addressed the human follies of his own time such as taking out a stone of stupidity from a fool's head surgically, the satirical humor used in his work can still be appreciated today and his works inspire many modern students.
It is an amazing and amusing documentary and a must-see if you're interested in painting.

This 50-minute bio-documentary is presented through Kultur International's "Dutch Masters" series.

As this program's narrator openly admits at the start - There is very little known of Bosch's life, or of his art training, but it is unanimously agreed that his painting style was very influential.

Born (1450?) in the Netherlands - Hieronymus Bosch not only produced some fantastic illustrations depicting various religious concepts - But much of his work also displayed humanity's deepest fears and desires, as well (in a most startling fashion).

*Note* - In 1516 - Hieronymus Bosch (65 at the time) died of unknown causes.
