A movie about a relationship between a widower in his 40s and a girl 20 years younger, both with serious problems... She convinces him to marry her so she can escape her parents; proceeds to hook up with guys who interest her while he falls in love. Things get derailed about 2/3 of the way through, and those hoping for a pat, happy ending will leave disappointed. Well acted, but sort of sad. Love doesn't conquer all; maybe it only conquers those who seek it.

Sibel, a young Turkish woman living in Germany with her family, needs to marry a Turkish man so she can be freed from living at home with her parents. She marries Cahit, Turkish man, basically without knowing anything about him. The film depicts the trials and tribulations of Turks living in a Western country, but still having to abide by some of the severest restrictions of Turkish traditions. The story starts out somewhat comical as the young man is revealed to be an incredibly sloppy, and hapless bum who leads a very destructive lifestyle. Sibel, herself, begins a path destruction, mostly independent of the destruction experienced by Cahit. A sad story of two paths to hell.

An alright film concerning a love affair

Ultimately left me feeling sad at the follies people pursue while 'searching or giving up on' themselves. Reminded me of the old saying that if you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there.
