I was looking forward to this sequel to "Ellen Foster", but the author seems to have lost her way in the intervening 20 years. In this book, Ellen is now 15, an exceptional adolescent hoping to go to Harvard. She comes to terms with her past through discovering more of her mother's life. The background is southern and backwoods. Overall, it seemed overally sentimental and unrealistic.
