Set in Victorian London-where magic is real and Elemental Masters control the powers of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth-the fourth novel in this best-selling series tells the story of Lord Alderscroft, Master of the British Elemental Masters Council-the most powerful Fire Master ever to lead the Council. Loosely based on The Snow Queen, The Wizard of London delves into Lord Alderscroft's youth, when he was bespelled by an evil Elemental Master who hoped to use him for political gain.

A cute book! I really like the way Lackey creates characters that are three dimensional. It is easy to get to know them; they are all very realistic.

This book differs a bit from the other books set in this universe. Not only are there elemental mages, but also psi-warriors. Different talents, but they exist in the same era, side by side.

I liked this intresting new layer, and I thought the "Snow Queen" story base was well threaded into the main plot.

A good read, quick and enjoyable.

I enjoyed this work more than the Cinderella-like Phoenix and Ashes. The child protagonists are well written and the world is more fleshed out because of the supporting adult characters. I was left with some crucial questions about the main antagonist and how that character came to be. Would recommend to a friend, definitely.
