Martin Freeman, post- Sherlock and Hobbit era is brilliant in this cute little adaption of a greater book. The life lesson that stays the same whether you read the series or watch this movie - is to never forget a towel.

The actors are great! It's one of the very few movies where everything is exactly as I imagined during reading the book! Excellent cast indeed!

An okay movie, but the book is way better.

This is the reason pot is not illegal. When everyone is sitting around smoking pot, they do nothing!

The special feature regarding the atheist view of Deity set the tone for the movie.

Jim Hensen (the muppet designer) created the evil aliens. It is a brainwash all around. This gives it a sense of acceptance for the children.

The church scene was so sacrilegious I will not make any further comments.

The humanoid type robot who is a disgruntled worker did mention cybernetics. I did not find him to be an enduring character as intended.

I am wondering who is minding the children.

Resistance is futile!

It is kind of a general reflection of the book, but I still enjoyed it. Martin Freeman is hilarious as the awkward, Arthur and Zooey Deschanel does a great job as well. Also, a warning, the "So long and thanks for all the fish" song is very catchy and will get stuck in your head.

Watch with friends, watch alone, watch again! This is a delightful, funny upbeat movie. So many good lines. Adorable, quirky!

The movie adaptation of hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy in my mind is a sort of take it or leave it sort of movie. Some no doubt are let down by loss of some of the bits or entrees of the guide, and maybe the cast. Martin Freeman is far from the six foot Arthur we know from the book. Personal I liked it, admittedly it’s far from the greatest thing since slice bread, but I enjoyed. While I did miss some of the stuff that I remember from the serious it didn’t kill me so to speak. The fact that the ending is more up lifting than how the book series ended helped. I’m led to understand that most of the script for the movie was written by Adams himself including the new material and plot points. For those who have read the books I can only say that they should keep in mind that Adam’s had to turn his very funny novels that really just about an everyman drifting around the galaxy and make it to a movie with a plot and still keep the funny. For my money I think he did a good job of it.

Dylan is dead on! This remake of the 1980s BBC series is so badly miscast, with such poor acting, there is simply no comparison to those of us lucky to have seen the original, and the original actors were seriously outstanding. I fell asleep during this horrible remake . . .

Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.

Arthur: "Normality? We can talk about normality until the cows come home." Ford: "What is normal?" Trillian: "What is home?" Zaphod: "What're cows?"

Marvin: "This will all end in tears."
