This is a kidnapping film that's just kind of meh. Wayne and Eileen Hayes are a wealthy white couple in their 60s who made millions from laying off half their company's workforce, taking their pensions, and a huge bonus/retirement package from the one-time profits. Disgusting. One of the employees whose life they ruined was Arnold Mack who'd worked for them for 17 years. Eight years later he kidnaps Wayne in a brilliant kidnapping plan. I had no sympathy for the Hayes family. She never worked a day in her life. She spent her days swimming, sitting by their huge pool, and shopping. The maid did everything. He had a mistress on the side and took pleasure in condescending to people and telling them how worthless they were. What a pair. I almost wish he'd kidnapped the both of them, but then who would've paid the ransom?

Helen Mirren wonderful as ever, as is the rest of the cast. Some suspenseful moments, but the ending was sappy and unconvincing.

Excellent acting. Boring story telling.

Some very good acting, but in the service of a story which really doesn't hold together.
