This is an awesome book; filled with drama, insight, and apothegms. Neither too cynical (though there is cynicism in it), nor too Pollyanna-ish (though there is hope and naivety in it), nor too mystical (though there are mystical moments in it). It might just be the best book to experience to sympathetically comprehend great historical events. I had to not give five stars because although the reading was very good, the voices of the characters were not always clearly distinguished, making it confusing to follow at times.
