This is the 3rd book in this series, and like the others, it doesn't disappoint. Cleverly written using historical background story, it is one of the best so far. I don't feel the religious element is crammed down my throat. I was raised Catholic and the prayer and dedication of the main character doesn't offend me, although I am no longer a church-goer.
I couldn't get into this book, and finally stopped trying. The first book in this series was pretty good, but I quit reading the 2nd one when I was tired of having a certain subject crammed down my throat at every turn. I guess I'm just not a fan of the author at this point. She seems to have a very definite agenda.
This is one of a series involving two main characters; town police chief and female minister. Story line typically includes a crime or mystery to investigate. Best to start with first book as the series develops the relationship between the main characters. Enjoyable and easy read.
Very entertaining mystery. Flashbacks are handled well and are not a hinderance to the story. Can't wait to read the rest of the series
Very good entry in the series; maybe my favorite so far. Russ investigates the disappearance of a local doctor and Clare gets involved because the funding for the doctor's clinic gets diverted to St. Alban's for a new roof. This author has an uncanny and beliveable way to get a priest involved in police investigations and into dangerous spots. Kind of crazy but lots of fun. Also things are heating up between Russ and Clare.
