One of my favorites. Films are life experience specific. If you've ever been truly, madly, and deeply in love with someone who died then this movie has something to offer you. But if you've never had that experience then you'll likely be bored and unaffected.

The movie is essentially about coming to terms with that type of loss and moving forward. The only thing I really didn't like was that she moved on so quickly and that the new man was nothing much to look at. He also didn't seem to be as passionate or interesting which was uninspiring.

This BBC offering is truly awful to watch. It looks just like an 80's BBC drama. It feels like a TV program. British/kitchen sink dramas can be OK, but this is far from OK.

The script was uneventful and went nowhere. At the point of turning the film off I still had no idea what the motivation for any of the characters was, or if anything was ever going to happen. The protagonist goes to a psychiatrist, talks about her dead husband, complains to her landlord about rats and not a lot else.

It was around the 23-minute mark, (when her builder, boss, friend and landlord were all in her kitchen talking about washing up, of all things) that I decided this was not a film for me!

The legendary romantic comedy-drama, equally appropriate for Valentine's Day, Halloween or even Christmas. Ghost (which ripped off large parts of it) only wishes it was this good. The beginning is low-key and sad, but hang on. Truly, Madly, Deeply has as many laughs as tears. It's one of those rare films where you come out feeling like a better person, and in love with life.

A wonderful, heartfelt, romantic comedy. The lead actors were perfectly cast - as friends, lovers, musicians- believable and likable. Julliette is wonderfully expressive - I cried with her, laughed, commiserated, got aggravated and scared, too with her. Don't let the silly DVD cover mislead you; this is a couple who love and take care of each other and the whole crowd of her friends and his are folks you'd like to meet.

Extremely slow moving in the beginning, to the point that I was able to fast forward a few minutes and nothing happened but panning over the dull room.

Juliet Stevenson knocked me over, in this -- I'd never seen her act before, and she was so REAL in this role. And I never expected Alan Rickman to be adorable -- but in this, he is.

If you've ever grieved for someone important in your life, this movie will ring true for you. And it shows how an open heart can nonetheless heal.

But I don't need to heap praise on this film. All I have to do is tell you that this ROMANTIC COMEDY, with its generous dose of fantasy, is one of my HUSBAND's favourite movies -- right up there with Taxi Driver, The Godfather and Reservoir Dogs!
