VERY GOOD 2 CD set of songs by Benny Goodman leading his orchestra, trio, quartet in a 1938 Carnegie Hall concert. Lots of fun tunes, solos - and singing.
I may have to start a Web Sight called "Buried Treasure" for all the neglected great classic music and movies in the world. KCLS has 9 copies of the Great "Benny Goodman at Carnegie Hall, 1938". Only one copy has been checked out. So why miss out on a legendary concert. This concert should be on a historic jazz history calendar. Benny Goodman had attracted the greatest jazz musicians and vocalists to his band. He had Teddy Wilson on Piano, Gene Krupa on Drums, Lionel Hampton on vibes, Harry James on Trumpet, Cootie William on Trumpet and Bobby Hackett on Clarinet. Believe me folks, that all those men went on to be famous with either their own bands or a soloists in other famous big bands. The concert contains 24 great songs. I would only need this album and a mirror ball for the romantic lighting for a dance to begin. Just look at the cover! I get excited just looking at the wonderful layout they gave Benny Goodman. This is Jazz at it's best and it is all yours at KCLS. Thanks for reading the above. "Now Everybody Dance!!)
