This is what got me interested in mythology, years ago. The vibrant, colorful art, so deceptively simple, draws you in. That wonderful page where they're all hacking each other apart in Valhalla and then putting themselves back together and going off feasting... My daughter LOVED that page, and she's only *slightly* messed up as an adult now! Excellent retelling, and a very fun forward in this edition. See their Greek one, as well!

Very well crafted collection of Norse myths by the D'Aulaires is ideal for children and adults, and a suitable companion to their book on Greek mythology. Highly recommended.

This book is so great that the publisher got Michael Chabon to write the introduction for the latest edition. Need I say more?
