Many parts of this were compelling and eye-opening, especially during the first couple hundred pages and the last hundred pages. At points in the middle, I felt like I would appreciate it more if I were more familiar with more 20th Century Soviet politicians so that I could better appreciate the anecdotes. However, overall a worthwhile read.
