This book has a great story, but it is very wordy, and the message could've been said quicker. If you are a fan of older books, and older English, this is for you. I read the abridged version and it was still long. The story is about the…

Extremely wordy and pretty boring. Wanted to read it because it's a classic story. I had always assumed it was a short story--definitely should have been.

It's a classic for a reason. Read it with a highlighter to better capture the inimitably quotable bits.

I enjoyed this book a little bit less than I thought I would, however that doesn’t mean it was bad. At times the examples given to certain metaphors seem to go on for far too long and throughout the second quarter of the book I found…

I felt that Dorian Gray's character was a bit flat at a few points in the story (perhaps that was intentional). The dialogue tried too hard to be poetic and thought provoking, i thought. It gets especially boring in a few chapters like…

This book is very interesting to read and keeps you wanting to know what will happen next most of the time. It keeps you reading despite having a purposefully unlikable protagonist, mostly because he doesn’t start out as a bad person, but…

I picked this book because I thought I should read a classic fiction book for a change from all the history I've been reading. I had seen the movie probably 60 years ago. All I remembered was the painting that aged instead of Dorian. …

Glad this was a short book because it was a bit boring at certain points. Dorian’s moral decline was very disturbing. Some of his actions were predictable while others were shocking as I read them. Don’t regret reading it, though.

Somehow, this English major never read this classic. I'm glad I got around to it, reading the source material of so many of Wilde's witty one-liners. Probably not something I'll go back to re-read, but I enjoyed the ride.
