Fascinating, and without being preachy it trumpets the value of following what you love.
This is an excellent documentary. It is inspiring. Kind of sad that Kevins life became all about Elmo with no room for anyone else, something he laments. Very insightful about not only Kevin, but the entire industry of puppeteering. Highly recommend for any age.
The only annoying thing about this documentary - as is so prevalent these days - is the background music. Somebody please make a decent documentary without this noise!
I became very curious to find out about the person behind Elmo. He really came out of nowhere --and all because of his parent's support for his love of puppetering.
EXTRAS side note: a director (or someone) explains how Kevin was asked in a Q&A how he got through the bullying in school? Kevin's answer-What did I care? I knew my Mom loved me. I knew my Dad loved me. I knew my brothers and sisters loved me too. *so true, so true*
This is a very sweet story worth knowing about even if you are not a fan of Elmo, just as I am not. It's a touching story about the people behind the puppets and their passion for the work. Warning: contains heartwarming moments and may cause a little tear or two. :-)
