I love Ellen, but I did not love this audiobook (the first third that I listened to). It was Ellen's unedited and disorganized stream of consciousness. I could not finish the book.

Listened to the audiobook, or rather about half of it. If you are a big Ellen fan you will probably enjoy it. i appreciate Ellen from early on in her career and the road she travelled. She has a charmingly optimistic observational…

My experience was identical to Mogie's experience, written in a review below. It says: "I finished it because it was a easy read. Otherwise, I did not find the book particularly insightful or funny. I much prefer Ellen in person. The…
Seriously… I’m Kidding (Ellen DeGeneres) is probably my favourite of the many autobiographies I’ve read. I don’t think I stopped laughing throughout the time I read it. It was a perfect balance of witty, silly and quirky. It was also a…

I finished it because it was a easy read. Otherwise, I did not find the book particularly insightful or funny. I much prefer Ellen in person. The writing style was too rambley and did not engage me. Perhaps the Audiobook would have been…

A series of random thoughts from Ellen pulled together into a book. Three to four chapters should have been deleted in the editing process (really? A chapter of nonsensical noises and another chapter of "dead air"?). Don't read…

So I listened to this, and I think that is the only way to go. I can't imagine having read this book, and I say "book" loosely because it felt so much more like a Podcast from Ellen or really just watching her talk show. Because of this, I…

I found this to be a marvellously insightful book. The stories have a witty charm, just like Ellen herself. A great light read for anyone who loves to laugh.
Like Ellen herself, these essays are charming, quirky, and witty, at times veering into the absurd; they're also on a host of diverse topics loosely arranged around the idea of "happiness" and how Ellen herself has found it. From advice on…

I love Ellen and I love sarcasm but this book was way too much sarcasm for me. She went on these sarcastic tangents in the midst of sharing her wisdom (which had a lot of substance). Too bad. Big thumbs down for this book.

I don't as a rule watch "talk shows" so I've maybe seen her show 3 times, in doctors' waiting rooms. I had no idea Ellen was soooooo funny!!!! I've listened to George Carlin on tv and on cd and he was very funny; however, in print, dry as…

I like Ellen a lot, but didn't like this book much, although it was funny in some places and sort of cute in others. And example of what I didn't find funny: Ellen reading "funny noises" into the microphone. It was sort of like…

This audio book was solely a fun listen/read, and definitely laugh-out-loud funny. If you're looking for a serious and insightful book about life, then this isn't it. I enjoyed it and it made me smile.

I gave this book 5 stars because I laughed from beginning to end. If you're looking for a book to read on a rainy day curled up on the couch with a coffee this could be for you.
